Job Summary
The Drafter I will produce drawings from markups provided by engineers, designers, and others, and works closely with supervisor to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Adopt positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable, constructible, affordable, and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of Choice.
• Review job and communicate estimated amount of time needed to complete tasks.
• Communicate with engineer actual time spent versus scheduled time.
• Manage weekly task list using company-approved software.
• Communicate with engineers if tasks are not received within an established timeframe.
• Coordinate additional task list items with engineer to advance schedule as needed.
• Produce drawings from markups provided by engineer, designer, or others.
• Backcheck produced work against markup.
• Ensure adherence to established CAD and Revit standards.
• Accompany engineer, designer, or other members of team on site visits.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuing education webinars and education sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
• Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting or a closely related field
• 0-3 years of related experience
• Ability to read and understand markups and plan documents
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willing to learn new programs as required and to remain current on existing programs
• Ability to receive constructive criticism and feedback
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate with others across the organization in multiple locations to gather data and complete plan documents
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam or other pdf software
